Overview
This course will introduce the learner to the skills needed to become a productive, informative workplace trainer. Additionally, it will outline adult learning guidelines, developing effective communication skills, and defining the various ways in which different learners process, integrate, and apply information. Upon successful completion of this course, the learner will have a strong understanding of the following:
- Planning and teaching methods.
- Feedback and evaluation.
- The importance of appearance.
Contents
T1. The Role of the Trainer: This topic will define the role of the workplace trainer in todays workplace, required abilities of an adult educator, and adult learning guidelines.
T2. Successful Communication: This topic will provide an overview of listening and communicating well, active listening techniques, using body language, and techniques for encouraging communication among learners.
T3. Gaining Training Confidence: This topic will provide an overview of becoming a successful trainer, things for inexperienced trainers to avoid, and the different ways in which learners process, integrate, and apply information.
T4. Planning and Teaching Methods: This topic will provide an overview of the various elements needed to formulate a successful training presentation, methods of instruction, learning obstacles, and tips for using visual aids.
T5. Feedback and Evaluation: This topic will provide an overview on gathering feedback, the proper ways to accept and process feedback, methods of evaluation, and levels of training evaluation.
T6. Professional Conduct: This topic will provide an overview of the importance of maintaining professional conduct when training, exercising good personal hygiene, and being assertive.
